本教材将教学过程与IT行业的发展、工作流程以及基本的分类对接，把IT行业的历史、现状、未来、工作方式以及基本理论等和语言知识、IT行业工程师的工作场景以及沟通情境紧密结合起来，从IT行业工程师实际工作情境出发，通过丰富的教学活动和案例、真实生动的听说活动、有趣的场景体验和实用多样的项目拓展，帮助IT相关专业学生掌握未来工作岗位所需的IT行业英语基础知识和技能，丰富并提升他们的岗位职业能力。

本教材共八个单元，以行业知识素养和工作流程为主线，以IT行业英语应用能力为宗旨，围绕IT行业工作流程，做到教学与实训相结合。每个单元围绕IT行业知识和职场技能主题交织展开，均由Lead in、Listening and Speaking、Intensive Reading、 Extensive Reading、Career Tips和Unit Project六个模块组成。
