1.本教材以学生在全英文环境从组装计算机开始，以完成一个网上商店的设计并完成网上交易、订单追踪为总任务，总任务下又划分了10个子项目。10个子项目涵盖了计算机的硬件、软件、网络的组建和连接、网站的设计、数据库建立、网络安全、电子商务、物联网、人工智能等计算机和电子信息方面的相关知识。教材设计环环相扣，独具匠心，突出专业性和实用性和应用性。

2.每个子项目采用模块化设计思路，分成三个模块，分别是Theoretical Learning（理论学习）模块、Practical Learning（专业任务）模块、Occupation English（职场英语训练）模块。

3.专业任务模块要求学生在全英语的环境下，在相关老师的指导下，在实验室完成相应的工作任务。任务的设置目的主要有两个：一方面是力求使学生通过理论知识的学习，来完成相应的计算机专业任务，在完成专业任务的过程中再来巩固和检验专业英语知识的学习情况；另一方面是教材通过小组来完成任务，需要小组成员的共同努力，在完成任务的过程当中还能培养学生的沟通能力、团结协作的能力和团队意识。

4.针对计算机职业的岗位需求，在每个任务中都有职场英语训练模块。本模块的设置目的有两个：一方面是内容的取材融入了思政要素，如在电脑销售场景采用我国自主研发产品作为素材，对学生进行爱国主义教育，并引导学生要肩负发展我国计算机技术的使命；在网络应用场景中选择“如何利用网络有效学习”这一主题引导学生如何正确利用网络提升自我，接过时代重任；在网络安全场景中引导学生树立安全意识，不要做危害互联网安全的行为；在面试场景中引入“工匠精神”理念，引导学生除了具备专业技能之外还要具备高尚的职业道德和职业精神。另一方面是通过这个模块模拟实际的工作情境，以便在未来的工作岗位中使用职场英语进行对话，能够真正做到会听会说会用。

5.本教材内容取材新颖，多数取材来源于英文网站和英文资料的原版文章，力求反映计算机方面的新知识和新技术；任务设计紧密结合计算机专业类课程，难度适中。

6.文中生词的注释标在正文的一侧，以方便读者阅读。
